Wonton Soup with Shrimp
Ingredients:
• 6 cups chicken broth
• 16 pieces pork frozen wontons
• 1 tablespoon minced ginger
• 1 tablespoon Shaoxing (cooking wine)
• 1 tablespoon sesame oil
• 2 heads bok choy
• ½ pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 3 scallions, thinly sliced
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• Chili oil (optional)
Method:
1. Prepare the Broth:
In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a simmer. Add the minced ginger, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, and sesame oil. Stir to combine.
2. Add Wontons:
Gently add the frozen pork wontons to the pot. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they are fully heated through and floating.
3. Add Bok Choy & Shrimp:
Slice the bok choy and add it to the soup along with the shrimp. Cook for 3-4 minutes, until the shrimp are pink and the bok choy is tender.
4. Season:
Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Serve:
Ladle the soup into bowls, garnish with sliced scallions and drizzle with chili oil if desired.
