China recently conducted a trial run of the CR450, set to be the world's fastest commercial train, expected to start operations in 2025. The CR450 reached trial speeds of 280 mph (450 km/h) from Tianjin to Beijing.

Videos of the trial run surfaced online in November but were later removed. The CR450, lighter and more efficient than its predecessor CR400, has a sleek, arrow-like design with decorative cockpit lights.

The train will operate at speeds of 248 mph (400 km/h) during commercial runs, significantly faster than the current CR400 trains. The CR450 also boasts a 20% energy reduction and improved braking.

China’s high-speed rail network is the largest globally, spanning over 45,000 kilometers and serving 31 regions. The Chengdu-Chongqing Central Line is speculated to be a potential route for the CR450.
