Norway is building the world’s longest and deepest underwater road tunnel, the Rogfast, with a $46 billion budget. Set to open in 2033, this 16-mile tunnel will go 1,300 feet below sea level, connecting Randaberg and Bokn in Rogaland. It’ll cut 11 hours off travel time along the E39, replacing ferries with a 35-minute drive.
With 6,000 vehicles daily, it offers a weather-proof solution for commuters. Norway’s Lærdal Tunnel currently holds the record, but Rogfast will forever change infrastructure.
