Researchers
from Huaqiao University in China have created perovskite solar cells
with a record efficiency of 26.39%. The breakthrough comes from using an
ultra-thin polymeric interlayer (D18) that blocks ion diffusion,
improving stability and performance.
These
cells address key issues like ion migration, which causes instability
and reduced lifespan in perovskite solar cells. The D18 interlayer also
enhances energy alignment and efficient hole extraction.
