OpenAI has introduced o3-mini, a new AI model now available to all ChatGPT users, including those on the free tier. Users can access it via the "Reason" button in the chat interface.

 

 

OpenAI has introduced o3-mini, a new AI model now available to all ChatGPT users, including those on the free tier. Users can access it via the "Reason" button in the chat interface.

 

The o3-mini processes responses 24% faster than its predecessor, o1-mini, and delivers results comparable to the premium o1 model in math, programming, and science when set to medium reasoning effort. 

It also features transparent reasoning, allowing users to see how responses are generated, along with built-in web search via ChatGPT Search.

 

Additionally, OpenAI has tripled daily message limits for ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers from 50 to 150 messages. For unlimited access, the Pro tier remains at $200 per month.

 

This release follows DeepSeek’s aggressive AI expansion, heating up competition in the AI industry.
