Amazon will launch the first 27 satellites for its Project Kuiper internet network on April 9, using an Atlas V rocket. The goal is to compete with SpaceX’s Starlink in the growing satellite internet market.
This launch kicks off the first of 80 missions planned to build a massive constellation of over 3,200 satellites. Once completed, the system will offer fast, low-latency internet around the world by the end of this year.
Amazon plans to offer affordable user antennas under $400 and internet speeds up to 1 Gbps, targeting mobile, home, and business users—even in remote areas.
