Boston Dynamics' Atlas robot has moved from warehouses to film sets, now working behind the camera. It's helping with cinematography and handling shots in risky or hard-to-reach places.
This project is led by British company WPP, along with Canon and Boston Dynamics. They’re using AI tools like Nvidia Cosmos to create synthetic training data, so Atlas can learn how to work in complex filming environments.
Atlas can carry up to 44 lbs and stay steady in tricky positions. This makes it perfect for repeated long shots and filming in extreme locations like volcanoes, bringing new options to the world of filmmaking.
